Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist(Chemistry/Hematology)
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing technical skills in organizing and performing various medical laboratory procedures and clinical laboratory techniques.
Job Duties:
- Performs routine laboratory procedures recognizing deviation from expected results.
- Analyzes and corrects problems with the assistance of more senior personnel.
- Performs Quality Control and calibrations on instruments.
- Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing.
- Secures media and supplies for clinical testing or research studies and manages supply requests.
- Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Experience:
None.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
Certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent or eligibility to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire date is required.
