Job Summary:

 UT Health San Antonio is actively expanding, and we are seeking a senior level analyst with experience in Epic Cadence for an exciting opportunity as we design, implement, test, validate and maintain our Epic software.

 

Under little or no supervision, this position is responsible for Epic Cadence module(s). This position is for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, which means being able to change direction quickly, multitask, and demonstrate a passion and eagerness to learn new technologies. Epic Cadence will collaborate with and provide expert-level support to their counterparts from other applications to successfully meet the development and implementation objectives for assigned Epic applications. Effectively manages competing and changing priorities. Serves as project lead and mentor for key initiatives, including performing project management duties, as assigned. Develops, documents, and adheres to the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with related applications and systems. Interacts professionally with leadership, faculty, staff, and vendors.

Job Duties:

This job description describes the general nature and level of work required by the position. It is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of qualifications, skills, duties, responsibilities or working conditions of the job.

 

1. Workflow: Based on clinical project requests, works with requestors and users to understand, and document current workflow with an eye toward proposed future workflows that are optimized for any planned application changes.

2. Design and Build: Presents recommended system enhancement opportunities and creative technical solutions for surgical scenarios. Using analytical evaluation skills, identifies, proposes, builds, and demonstrates prototypes of application configuration options for review and approval by project requestors.

3. Performs ongoing maintenance and configuration updates to Epic applications.

4. Test: With minimal supervision, creates test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes. Performs actual testing of clinical information system configuration and processes, including testing across applications and/or the testing of the application configuration of other analysts. Coordinates and participates in requestor and user testing of application changes.

5. Support: Provides tier-two support to end-users both remotely and in-person. Monitors, investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves incoming tickets. Serves as a liaison between users and vendors. Coordinates system fixes and changes with software vendors. Coordinates the deployment of application changes with the training team and operations.

6. Functions as business partner and consults with physician practices, service lines, departments, individuals, and coworkers. Develops in-depth knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and processes to function effectively as educator and expert for system users.

7. Creates/modifies/advises/trains on workflow improvements regarding system usage and design. Establishes and leads regular meetings proactively with department heads and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize their needs.

8. Performs rounds with departments to maintain casual interface with individuals and focus on relationship-building.Coordinates operational and capital project requests with appropriate Information Systems & Technology and operational teams.

9. Provides on-call coverage as scheduled.

10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

 Bachelor’s degree (4 years of comparable experience may be substituted for a degree).

 

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of directly related Epic experience including in-depth knowledge of software development/build lifecycles.  Epic Cadence and Referrals experience required.  Cadence Decision Tree and Direct Scheduling knowledge preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

 Epic Cadence Certification.

 

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

Cadence certification must be maintained per Epic Corporation standards.

Referrals and Authorization Certification (preferred).
