Epic Population Health, Interop & Digital Health Analyst- Senior

Under little or no supervision, this position is responsible for Population Health, Interoperability and Digital Health applications of Epic with various tasks ranging from troubleshooting, system enhancements, validation, testing, and training. Guidance and general oversight may be required for more technical build and analysis. Responsible for documenting and adhering to the internal processes for UT Health IT. This position requires previous direct build experience in Healthy Planet, Compass Rose, Cosmos, Care Everywhere, Cheers, MyChart, EpicCare Link, e-prescribing, and/or third-party integrations/data exchange. This position is for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, which means being able to change direction quickly, multi-task, and demonstrate a passion and eagerness to learn new technologies.
The Epic Population Health, Interoperability and Digital Health application analyst will collaborate with and provide expert-level support to their counterparts from other applications to successfully meet the development and implementation objectives for assigned Epic applications. Ability to mentor a diverse team and foster a collaborative and collegial working environment. Effectively manages competing and changing priorities. Serves as project lead for key initiatives, including performing project management duties, as assigned. Develops, documents, and adheres to the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with related applications and systems. Interacts professionally with leadership, faculty, staff, and vendors.
Job Duties:
- Actively collaborate with all Epic team(s) and Operations for ongoing software maintenance and optimization.
- Establish, document, and adhere to change-control procedures for the system.
- Mentor and lead an expanding team as UT Health implements additional Epic modules.
- Presents recommended system enhancement opportunities and solutions for clinic-related scenarios. Using analytical evaluation skills, identify, propose, build, and demonstrate prototypes of application configuration options for review and approval by project requestors.
- Performs ongoing maintenance and configuration updates to Epic applications.
- With no supervision stands up project plan, performs build, creates/updates test scripts, helps identify timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes. Performs testing of clinical information system configuration and processes, including testing across applications and/or the testing of the application configuration of other analysts. Coordinates and participates in requestor and user testing of application changes.
- Provides tier-two support to end-users. Monitors, investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves incoming tickets. Serves as a liaison between users and vendors.
- Coordinates system fixes and changes with software vendors. Coordinates the deployment of application changes with the training team and operations.
- With little to no supervision, lead the strategic execution, oversight, enhancement, implementation, and optimization of all clinical components of Epic Population Health, Interoperability and Digital Health space.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of directly related Epic experience including in-depth knowledge of software development/build lifecycles.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (4 years of comparable experience may be substituted for a degree).
Certifications:
Epic certification must be maintained per Epic Corporation standards.
