Job Summary:

Under general supervision by the HR Partner and the department administrator, performs a variety of analytical activities in human resource administration. Administers policies, programs and processes covering several or all the following: talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, learning and development, and some employee relations matters.


Job Duties:

  1. Interprets and executes HR policies, including compensation and classification, employee relations, talent acquisition, work and leave administrations, and employment administration. Serve as the primary liaison to communicate changes in HR policies and programs.

  2. Responsible for the end-to-end management of transactions by initiating, tracking, and closing actions in HCM. Transactions include, but are not limited to FTE actions, supplemental payments, leaves of absence, entering approved changes in funding, position creation/modification, terminations, and salary changes.

  3. Confirms transaction completeness, accuracy, and compliance with UTHSA and department policies and procedures. Provide prompt feedback to unit employees when additional information is required.

  4. Responds to phone, email, in-person, and online inquiries to provide information related to HR processes and practices.

  5. Addresses routine employee relations issues and escalate to HR Partner when necessary. Support investigations by documenting issues and gathering information.

  6. Participates in client department meetings to confirm service expectations and to anticipate upcoming needs.

  7. Maintains up-to-date and accurate information, including personnel and employment files. Maintains documentation of transactions and interactions.

  8. Identifies recurring issues and questions and escalate them to HR Partner.

  9. Responds to inquiries regarding process status and proactively notifies clients regarding process delays or issues.

  10. Presents monthly analysis on service level metrics as well as baseline performance of units.

  11. Provides data and policy guidance for units considering promotions, demotions, title changes, compensation changes, and voluntary terminations for staff.

  12. Identifies client unit needs and provide guidance and tracking during the talent acquisition process. Provides development and supplemental materials for interviewing and post-interview follow-up.

  13. Supports talent acquisition processes as requested for both faculty and staff though activities including candidates sourcing, screening, selection process coordination, documentation preparation and management. Coordinates with Talent Acquisition experts and School-level offices to ensure seamless hiring and on-boarding.

  14. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Education:

Bachelor's degree is required.


Experience:

Three (3) years of applicable experience is required.


Licenses and Certifications:

PHR - Professional Human Resources Certification
